Fitting and removal

InvisiLight uses adhesive and an application tool. HideWire uses clear acrylic fasteners that peel off cleanly while still providing adhesive strength necessary to securely attach the cable to the wall. That makes it easy to remove when you move out, without leaving a permanent cable installation behind.

Handling the fibre

HideWire’s bend-insensitive fibre is 0.9mm in diameter and more durable than InvisiLight’s 0.6mm white fibre cable.

Connecting your devices

InvisiLight includes two 1Gbps media converters. HideWire includes multi-port switches with 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports and a fibre link up to 10Gbps. You can connect your computer, television and Wi-Fi access point to the same switch, rather than buying another one. This system provides extra flexibility and opportunity for future expansion of your HideWire network as well.

Price

InvisiLight costs more than twice as much as the £125 HideWire kit, as of October 2026. Its supplied media converters support 1Gbps, compared with HideWire’s 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports and 10Gbps fibre link between switches.
