HideWire vs MoCA

HideWire puts a dedicated fibre connection where you need it. Unlike MoCA, it does not depend on existing coax sockets, connected TV cable routes or suitable splitters—and its fibre link supports up to 10Gbps.

A TV socket is not always in the right place

MoCA needs a suitable coax connection between the rooms you want to link. The sockets also need to be useful for your setup. HideWire lets you run the fibre to your desk, television or access point instead of arranging the room around the TV wiring.

No coax alterations

With MoCA, you need to check the cable route, splitters and any services already using them. HideWire uses its own fibre, leaving the television cabling alone. Clear removable fasteners hold it along the room edges.

More capacity between rooms

HideWire provides a fibre link up to 10Gbps; MoCA 2.5 supports up to 2.5Gbps on the coax network. HideWire’s individual Ethernet ports are 2.5Gbps. The supplied multi-port switches let several devices use the connection without adding another switch.

Expanding the network

HideWire will soon sell expansion kits to extend your HideWire network given you have the original kit, letting you expand your wired fibre network while reusing previous kit. Far superior to the cost of another pair of MoCA adapters (as they must be paired).
